7 Tips For Building Highly Optimized Affiliate Sites
Its been a while since i posted on my blog, mainly because ive been focusing a lot more recently on building more affiliate sites mainly with amazon because by xmas i want to of pushed my earnings to $100 a day with amazon alone
im basically building amazon review sites but the way im building them is im taking into consideration the latest panda update in the google algo
ive already built 2 new amazon affiliate review sites and they get a steady stream of traffic each day and they are steadily moving up the rankings so things are going well
i know a lot of people are a bit confused about all this new google algo update and are not sure exactly what they should be doing to optimize there affiliate sites the best they can, so what ive decided to do is give you a list of all the things that im doing on my new affiliate sites and also things that you must take into consideration when you build new affiliate websites, weather its for adsense, clickbank or amazon, cpa, commission junction it doesnt matter these will apply to every site you build from now on
Firstly i will say that ive not really had any massive ranking changes for my adsense and amazon affiliate sites. I have a couple of sites which the ranking has fluctuated some what but im still in the top 10 of google so its just a case of making some improvements and i will get back up in the top 3 again (but i will explain about those improvemnts in just a minute)
Things to Consider When Building New Affiliate Sites with this Panda Google Algorithm Update
- Very Long Front Page – Forget about 300 – 500 word home page articles, start doing at least 1000 – 1500 Make your internal pages long too, the more words the better but at least 1000 words is good
- Customized Header - Try to increase the time on site, so have a good designed customized header which makes the site look trustworthy and professional. Also pay attention to your bounce rate because you dont want your traffic arriving at your site and then leaving straight away again, all these small factors can impact your SEO
- Include pictures – include pictures within your content and make sure you include the alt tag description and delete the url of the picture unless your linking to another resource or another site etc
- Diverse your links when link building – when you build links to your sites start off slow for new sites, start with social bookmarking for a good month or so before building any other type of links. The 2 link building tools that i recommend in my adsense and amazon video course are still the only 2 tools that i use
- Use a Good Theme – When you build new affiliate sites use a theme that will look tidy and clutter free. If your site is easy to navigate and find stuff then people will often stay for longer giving you a better time on site. You dont need all the widgets under the sun to have a good site, its content which is the most important.
- Hosting – Some people are getting paranoid and think that its there hosting company that could be the problem with so many of there sites dropping out of the serps. All i can say is i use hostgator and ive never had any problems with them. I really dont think it has anything to do with what hosting company your with as long as they do everything above board. If in doubt check out hostgator
- Put your site through Serp IQ – This is a super piece of software that im currently using and believe me your going to want to check this out, you can check up to 5 of your websites for FREE and this alone is awesome because you can see what you have to do with your on site SEO to make it better. (this is golden info)
Ive already improved quite a few of my sites using serp iq, and having better on site SEO than most your competitors on page 1 is going to give you a massive advantage. Theres also lots more awesome data to get from this tool so be sure to check it out
When you check the SEO score of your site with serp iq obviously the higher the score the better but anything above 90% is excellent. I made a change yesterday to one of my sites and i had every single box ticked so i now know that my on site SEO is excellent and this gives me a massive advantage over other sites trying to rank for the same keyword
Thats enough for you to be getting on with for now, if you follow these tips i know for a fact you will see improvemnets in your traffic and rankings. Dont forget all these updates that google release are only to trying to make it better for people when they search and find what there looking for. By using the tips above are not just the latest loophole but long term strategies and techniques which will help you to achieve better results
i hope this has helped you and cleared up a few things as to how you can improve or build better affiliate sites
let me know how you get on with using serp iq and if you liked it

@Darrin:
hey darrin
no problem, i put a few sites through it and it brings back some great information
the only thing i cant seem to work out is some of my sites have a much lower index score but they are in position 1 and 2 in google and the other sites all have a much better index score than mine
i guess there is no exact science as to if you can outrank your competition just based on the index score but over time im sure i sill start to see some trends
thanks darrin
