There are many different types of businesses that you can get into online, some of them are network marketing or MLM, surveys, affiliate marketing, adsense marketing, making money on ebay, cpa marketing and the list goes on but these are some of the most popular types of businesses that newbies are bombarded with when looking to start there own internet business.

The most important rule about building your own online business is that it has to be stable and you have to own it. When you set your online business up money can be very tight and you may have to watch what you spend before you actually start to invest any but you also have to be realistic by that i mean, if you wanted to set up an offline business you wouldnt expect to start one up with no money would you? Its the same online, however the costs are no where near as high but you do initially have to budget some money per month that you can spend on your online business.

When i say a stable business i mean you need to own your own website. Many newbies come online and try to cut corners by only using free services like blogger, squidoo or the free wordpress sites. These free services have there place but by no means should you ever use them to rely on as part of your online business.

You may be wondering why using them is such a bad idea… i will quickly explain! Its like renting a house and owning a house. If you have your own website that you own and your own server space then that is yours and no one can take your sites away from you. By using these free services you have absolutely no control over your website, it can get taken down at any time for any reason which is out of your hands. Ive known marketers that have lost lots of squidoo lens simply overnight because someone at squidoo has pushed the big delete button.

DO NOT use free services to build your business or you will be sorry. You may not lose your sites and theres marketers out there that have been using these sites for years with no problems, but do you really want to take the chance and put thousands of hours into your site to then find one morning that all of your hard work has been deleted?

Using these free sites may seem like a shortcut at first but in the long run you will lose out. Having your own website and server space can sound very scary and techy but believe me its not! I was the most useless person on a computer 2 years ago and now i find it easy and i had no one to really teach me.
