Todays blog post is going to be a little different to the ones that you usually read and hopefully a little entertaining too lol.

I thought i would take this opportunity to let you in on something that ive been learning for the past month or so, its something that ive always wanted to be able to do and also i can use it as a great comparison to internet marketing so thought it would make a good blog post

In case you didnt know when im not working on my online business im often down the gym, i go to the gym between 4 and 6 times a week generally and i like to do various types of fitness training from weight training to circuit/cross fit training and always looking to challenge myself.

This is where the human flag comes in.

Have you ever heard of the human flag?

Well if you havent its basically an excercise that you can do on any kind of fixed pole. It obviously has to be stirdy because it has to take all your weight.

yes this is me…

It gets its name (human flag) because when you adopt the finished position your body resembles a flag type of shape

In case you were wondering where this is. The gym which i go to is in the same building as a go kart track and during our circuit training we are able to use the go kart track for excercises.

Its very difficult to pull off and takes a lot of practice…at the time of writing this i havent quite mastered it completely yet but i would of within the next few months

Ive been watching people do this excercise for years and now that youtube is available theres hundreds of videos on there too. So ive always wanted to be able to do it so i started seriously training it about a month ago

So what has this human flag got to with internet marketing paul?

well its simple……

although learning the human flag wont take anywhere near as long to learn internet marketing there are many things which work in the exact same way

1. I knew learning to do the flag would be very challenging and i would have to learn a bunch of new skills like balance, improve my oblique strength (my sides) develop more upper body strength and also develop my forearms and arms more too.

IM - learning internet marketing is very challenging, you have to develop new skills and spend time honing these skills so that they become a 2nd nature, things like keyword research, checking google competition, building blogs with the correct layout, knowing how to build a list and create your own product and drive traffic. These are all important skills you must aquire if your serious about being successfull in internet marketing

2. I need somewhere where i can learn these new skills. I went to youtube for hours watching tutorial videos. Initially i watched videos how to do the human flag and the correct hand positioning and the best posture to adopt when starting the lift. Also i looked for videos showing me specific exercises which will specifically build the exact muscles needed to perform the human flag successfully.

IM - With IM its the same…. you need some places with good resources that you can learn from, weather its video or text. I will admit though i find it much much easier learning from a video. When you watch these videos you will learn the specific skills which you will need in order to build profitable affiliate sites and how to make money in your online business. These types of videos are vital because if you fail to learn the basics your going to find it very difficult to put it all together when you end up creating your own product and building a list etc.

3. Take massive action, stay motivated and be consistant. This is what ive done so far for learning the human flag. I do human flag training at least 4 times a week. That involves strateching, muscle development excercises and performing lots of human flags in each training session too.

IM - Its no different in IM, you need to take massive action stop sitting on the fence and putting things off. Do it today and dont put it off for tomorrow. You need to take consistant action as well, meaning its no good doing some learning for a few days and then nothing for a week. You need to get motivated and start taking action. You wont always have to learn as much as you need to at the start but in the initial stages of internet marketing its important that your head is like an information sponge on steroids, absorbing as much infomation as humanly possible

4. I didnt expect overnight success. I expect with the amount of training im doing i should be able to perform excellent human flags and holding them for 5+ seconds in around 4 – 5 months. Ive set a realistic time frame according with the amount of training im doing.

IM - Do not expect to be raking in the big bucks overnight. Also dont set unrealistic goals when you have no system in place for producing those results. Set yourself a goal of say $10 a day from say amazon in say 6 months from now and work on only 1 site untill you reach your goal of $10 a day and then go from there, aim too high and you will lose motivation very fast

5. Think of the end result and where you want to be. I know that eventually i will be able to perform the human flag on both sides and also hold it for a very good length of time. (the world record is currently around 39 seconds lol) WOW!! Then i will be able to have complete workouts just doing this. Once i have mastered the human flag i will go on to other cool and awesome excercises and tackle those too.

IM - you need to keep focused and know where you want to be. If you want to own your online business which provides you with a stable full time income then keep that vision in mind. Keep working and learning keeping this in mind, it will keep you motivated. Once you have your own stable online business which provides you with a full time income you will then be able to tackle other ventures and maybe go into other markets or start a new blog which you have always wanted to do. By keeping focused like this you wont get distracted by the latest shiney new piece of software or course which some idiot guru has just released. Keep focused and stay motivated.
